Medical cover for a Thailand trip
Unexpected treatment and getting home after an illness or accident can be costly. Compare emergency medical and repatriation cover, then check the conditions that apply to your own health and travel plans.
Before buying
- Declare your history: answer every medical-screening question fully, including treatment, tests and referrals where asked.
- Check acceptance: review your medical declaration and policy certificate. Ask the provider to correct missing or inaccurate information.
- Compare limits and excesses: check emergency treatment, repatriation and what you pay towards a claim.
- Check activities: scooters, diving and trekking may have separate conditions.
- Check the whole trip: your cover must include every destination and the full duration.
If you need treatment abroad
Seek urgent local help when needed. Contact your insurer’s emergency assistance service as soon as practical and follow its instructions about treatment, authorisation and documents. Keep receipts and medical records for the claim.
Keep these details offline
- Your policy number and emergency assistance telephone number.
- Your accepted medical declaration and policy certificate.
- Details of your medicines and an emergency contact.
